Mail looking for New York trainees


The Daily Mail in New York is looking for trainee journalists. The successful trainees will start in the summer on a two-year-long programme that involves intense training, assessment and on-the-job experience. If you are interested in popular journalism, have an American passport and want to work for the world’s biggest English-language newspaper website, this could be the opportunity you are waiting for.

You will need to be prepared to work for a round-the-clock operation, with nightshifts, regular weekends and you will be covering national and international news at a fast pace. The successful applicants will probably have a journalism degree or have shown a commitment to journalism by writing for their student newspaper/website and gained work experience in newsrooms.

The course starts with an intensive in-house training month during which trainees are introduced to Mail style and culture before joining the DailyMail.com newsroom in New York. You will be paid a competitive salary while you train. Following the two years, there will be an opportunity to apply for a secondment to the London or Sydney office.
