Opportunity for young journalists at the i

Here is a fantastic opportunity for budding young journalists. Britain’s youngest national newspaper and website, the i, has launched an apprentice scheme aimed at school and college-leavers and people who may traditionally face barriers to a media career.
Each successful apprentice will complete four weeks of intensive training with the Press Association in London, followed by a 13-week programme of training from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays spent in i’s newsroom.

Trainees will work towards their Junior Journalism Apprenticeship, made up of the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism and a final assessment project. Each apprentice will receive a salary for the two-year programme and their tuition will be full funded. Editor Oly Duff and colleagues explain the scheme in a video hereIf you have A-levels and/or a B-Tec level 3 (or will have by the summer), a passion for journalism and can start in London in August, get your application in here.
