Kelly wins the US newsquiz

The DailyMail.com trainees had another good week in New York. They wrote personality profiles, covered breaking stories and turned agency copy into Mail style. They had a session about the exclusives operation with executive editor Candace Trunzo, who Zoomed in from Florida, and also had talks from deputy Femail editor Raven Saunt, associate editor Mike Brear, opinion and features editor Matt London and deputy Henry Jones, consumer editor Dan Jones and head of video Alex Ringsell. Training manager Nick Enoch Zoomed in from London to explain the systems training and former trainees Karen Ruiz, Kayla Brantley and Ishita Srivastava talked through their journeys. The trainees pitched stories to head of news Jen Smith and to health and science editor Connor Boyd. Samantha Rutt wrote a story about the first county in America to ban face masks - with penalties of a year in jail or a $1,000 fine. You can read it here.
