Trainee Archie wins the newsquiz

I spent this week at the Daily Mail offices in London with 16 trainee journalists. They had a busy week, writing and editing articles and looking for news stories. There were sessions by managing editor Alex Bannister, news-editor Sam Marsden, assistant chief sub David Feldstein and former trainee Eleanor Sharples. As usual, we finished the week with the newsquiz. Archie Mitchell, with an impressive 22, was top scorer and won a lottery scratchcard. Other good scores came from Alex Jennings on 20, Sam Merriman and Henry Jones who both scored 19 and Elliot Mulligan with 18.5. A scratchcard also went to Alex Ross for the best intro of the week. There were some high scores in last week’s newsquiz. Dora Allday was the top solo scorer with a record-breaking 23.5. The top team - Simon, Sue and Will Cole - posted the same score. Other impressive scores came in from Janet Boyle with 20.5, Toby Brown 20, Liz Gerard 19 and Gavin Devine 18.
