Trainee Ed wins this week's newsquiz

The MailOnline trainees had another good week in Kensington. They had sessions with deputy Femail editor Rebecca Davison, executive news-editors Neville Wilson and Marianna Partasides, senior reporter Mark Duell and history correspondent Harry Howard. Editor Emeritus Peter Wright gave guidance on the editor’s code and they spent an afternoon with the Mail’s lawyers. The trainees pitched news-stories to Amanda Williams and Neville, Femail stories to Bridie Pearson-Jones and travel stories to Ted Thornhill. They  wrote picture stories and the best headline award went to Alesia Fiddler. Peter Snepvangers was the first trainee to be published with a story about the owners of easyJet suing indie-band Easy Life for ‘exploiting its invaluable reputation’. You can read it here
